Why this exists
Most contractors never see the work they're eligible for.
Public sector bodies in the UK are required to publish construction and trade contracts publicly. In practice, that means hundreds of notices scattered across separate council and NHS procurement portals, each with its own search tool, filing format and jargon.
A small electrical firm doing real, capable work has neither the time nor the reason to check them all daily. So work that's genuinely within reach goes unbid, not because a contractor couldn't do it, but because they never found out it existed.
Guildbid exists to close that gap — reading the notices so a contractor doesn't have to, and only surfacing the ones that are a real fit.

Reading the register
Guildbid reads official procurement notices as they're published, covering contracts from local authorities, NHS trusts and other public bodies.
Every notice is sourced from an official government feed — nothing is scraped from a listing you couldn't verify yourself.
02 — Match
Scoring the fit
Each live notice is checked against trade, location and deadline. A contractor only ever sees notices they're genuinely eligible for.
Trade and geography are hard requirements, not soft preferences — a mismatch on either simply doesn't surface.
03 — You approve
The decision stays yours
Guildbid shows the match and the reasoning behind it. What happens next — bidding, ignoring it, asking questions — is entirely up to you.
Nothing is submitted, sent or actioned on a contractor's behalf, at any stage.

Where it stands
This is early. Guildbid is a working system, not a finished company — it currently covers electrical contractors across six UK regions, matched against live public sector notices.
I'm building it in the open, one region and one trade at a time, and I'd rather tell you exactly where it stands than oversell it. Mechanical, fire and security, and other trades are the planned next step — not there yet.
